Believe it or not there is software that can be downloaded from the internet to be used to recover deleted files.
How we securely erase hard drives:
We use a mobile hard drive Quad-Core NAS server with software that will wipe up to five hard drives at one time using USDoD5220.22-M, 3 passes. We provide a certificate after the wiping of the drives showing the results.
